Veteran Scholarship Fund

CanCode Communities is committed to aiding our Veterans by providing access to quality training to those wishing to start a new career in the tech sector. Find out if you qualify for a scholarship.

We offer a range of classes at differing levels, taught by industry professionals. Local employers  serve as mentors and provide valuable networking opportunities. Our staff provide career counseling, resume reviews, and guidance for those who are ready to find the right tech job.

CanCode Communities offers courses in Beginner Computer Training, Front End Web Development, JavaScript Fundamentals and Frameworks, Python for Data Analytics, and SQL/ETL. Classes are twelve weeks long, and meet two evenings a week. Instructors may also offer lab or extra help sessions. In addition to working with our instructors, our program managers connect with each student and offer additional support to ensure student success. Our program managers also evaluate students’ strengths and weaknesses to guide them toward appropriate career paths in technology. Some of our students will go on to become developers, while others will be successful as scrum masters, data analysts, or quality assurance specialists.

Thanks to a generous grant of $25,000 from SEFCU, we can provide 15 full scholarships to veterans across New York state. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please complete the form below.

“After doing my tour of service, all that waited for me were low-paying jobs… I found CanCode, retrained myself, and became a programmer. Now I’m on the road to financial freedom. I believe in the mission so much that I now work here, helping others enter the tech world.”

CanCode Instructor

“I would highly recommend other veterans take at least one Can Code class… I learn by engaging in the subject through a hands-on approach as opposed to reading and trying to memorize the info for a test.  Can Code allows those of us who utilize this approach to learn a skill set at a faster and more engaging pace.”
