Local non-profits gathered Wednesday to announce new grants to enhance digital equity in the Capital Region.
More than $500,000 in funding was given to help bridge the digital divide in the Capital Region.
The grants were given to Cancode Communities, which is an organization that helps increase access to computer literacy, along with The Friends and Foundation of the Albany Public Library, and the United Way of the Capital Region.
The Albany Public Library’s budget is up for vote next week. The Friends and Foundation of the Library says a portion of the budget would expand WiFi access. The vote is May 17.
