Local paper covers the software talent shortage: 4 articles in today’s Albany Business Review

Jun 3, 2016 | press

Today’s Albany Business Review featured a series of articles about the shortage of coders and what it means for our economy. This Sunny Day On The State Capitol Steps pic of Annmarie and me went with the headline “Finding Albany’s Coders.” The content is behind the paywall for subscribers but if you are a subscriber to the Albany Business Review – or want to be one – check the link here.

To be clear, the Albany Can Code initiative is about our regional economy – the jobs that are unfilled and the talent that’s not being trained. The pictures I really want to post are are locals, hired into local coding, UX and PM jobs. And pictures of career counselors, guidance counselors, social workers, parents, who are plugged in to the workplace needs of Tech Valley. We’re sure that the people who can code (and design, and project manage) are here in the 518 – they just don’t know it yet.
