Matina attended Juniata College (a small liberal arts school in Pennsylvania) and got a Bachelor’s degree in digital media. When she graduated however, she learned that she was not as passionate about the arts as she thought she was. After experimenting with web design, she learned that she loved web development. She went back to school and received an Associates Degree in web development at Hudson Valley Community College. Her ‘real’ education in development, she says, began when she started working at Deep Blue Communications, (acquired by Comcast) and has been working as web developer for 7 years. Matina joined the instructor team at Can Code to teach JavaScript Frameworks, and has been co-teaching our JavaScript courses with her colleague Jamal Taylor ever since.
