This summer students can apply for either Front End Web Development or Python for Data Analytics. Both classes are good entry points for a student wishing to learn to code for the first time.
In Front End Web Development, our most popular class, students learn the technical skills necessary for user interface (UI) development and wire framing. Students will develop skills in HTML, CSS, and introductory JavaScript. This class, offered in partnership with Capital Region BOCES, will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:45 – 8:45pm starting on Tuesday, June 16. Python for Data Analytics teaches students the basics of the popular programming language Python, as well as important uses in data science. Offered in partnership with SUNY Schenectady Community College, Python for Data Analytics will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:45 – 8:45 pm, starting on Monday, June 15. Please note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are still finalizing whether courses will be taught via in-person or virtual instruction; we will keep applicants updated as the start date approaches. Please be assured, we are prepared to deliver the class in either format, or as a combination of both, and we will continue to provide 1-on-1 and small group support for classes, as needed.
These classes typically fill up quickly, so if you’re interested, we encourage you to apply at your earliest opportunity by visiting our website at www.albanycancode.org.
