AlbanyCanCode Opens Registration for Spring 2021 Courses

Three courses will be offered virtually, including a first-ever class in Microsoft Azure

11/19/20 – Albany, NY-AlbanyCanCode, a nonprofit organization creating a new generation of
software coders in New York, today announced the opening of registration for its Spring
2021 courses, which include a first-ever class in Microsoft Azure. All courses will be
available to students from any region, with remote instruction continuing in the new year.

In addition to the inaugural class in Microsoft Azure, AlbanyCanCode is offering courses in
Front-End Web Development and JavaScript Frameworks. Courses begin the week of
February 1st , 2021 and are held two nights per week, three hours per session, for 12 weeks.

In addition, KingstonCanCode, which launched its initial course this fall, will host its second
class, Python for Data Analytics, in the spring.

“We’re excited to offer a full complement of courses, and to make them available to
students in any region, at a time when the business world is rapidly transitioning to a
digital and online environment,” said Annmarie Lanesey, Founder and CEO of
AlbanyCanCode and KingstonCanCode. “We have learned through the pandemic that virtual
learning is effective, and recent hires of our graduates to remote positions demonstrate
growing job opportunities for our students.”

The Front-End Web Development course, which teaches technical skills necessary for user
interface (UI) development and wire framing, will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays in
partnership with Capital Region BOCES.

In JavaScript Frameworks, held Mondays and Wednesdays in partnership with SUNY
Adirondack, students will take a more advanced dive into the dominant scripting tool for
front-end web development. This course represents the more advanced of
AlbanyCanCode’s two courses focusing on JavaScript.

AlbanyCanCode is excited to offer its first ever course on advanced Microsoft cloud tools.
This course will explore the basics of cloud computing, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Power
Apps, Microsoft Power Automate, and Microsoft Power BI with a focus on leveraging them
in an enterprise business workplace. This course will be offered on Mondays and
Wednesdays in partnership with SUNY Schenectady County Community College.

All classes run from 5:45 to 8:45 p.m. Registration for AlbanyCanCode classes can be found

KingstonCanCode will offer a course in Python for Data Analytics, held Tuesdays and
Thursdays in partnership with SUNY Ulster. In this course, students will learn the

foundation of Python, with an additional focus on using the popular programming language
for collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data. More information and registration for
